We aim to foster professional development, experiential learning and personal growth while OIT Student Ambassadors serve the university. As Ambassadors participate in this program, they will gain valuable professional and technical skills that will give them a competitive advantage when looking for internships and jobs while on the Hilltop and beyond. 

Throughout the program, Ambassadors will be able to take advantage of the following opportunities:

• Professional certifications (paid for by OIT) such as Adobe Creative Cloud Certifications, 谷歌认证, 表认证, Project Management Certification and more!
• On-the-job training for programs like Salesforce, Extron, Smartsheet, etc.
• Mentorship opportunities with industry professionals
• Access to special events on campus and in Austin, 比如SXSW, 会议, and other Austin community partners.

Scholarship Opportunities

That's right – we don't only provide professional development opportunities but financial support as well. 

每年, OIT offers the William Hartley Cahill scholarship, awarded to individuals who meet the following criteria:

• Worked in OIT for at least two semesters
• Proven excellence in their role in OIT
• Participation in OIT Student Ambassador events and activities
• Have made a significant impact in OIT with their work and projects
• GPA在3分之间.2-4.0

An OIT Student Ambassador should: 

• Possess the desire and capacity to learn and apply new things
• Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
• Be willing to receive and give constructive criticism
• Be able to work collaboratively in a team or independently 
• Be able to troubleshoot problems efficiently 
• Demonstrate patience and thoroughness in their work
• Work closely and effectively with the St. Edward's community (students, faculty and staff) 
• Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Student Ambassadors can and do perform various tasks for OIT, largely dependent upon the role and department in which they serve. Ambassadors could work in any of the 五个石油资讯科技部门 — and often, you'll collaborate with most, if not all, of them. 

Technology is an expansive and ever-growing field, so whether you want to be a graphic designer, 电视录像制作人, 或支持代理, we can help you prepare to enter the industry by giving you real, 有意义的工作.
